HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. This type of training gets your heart rate up fast, followed by a short cool down, and repeats. For example, you could do sprints for 1 minute and then rest or jog for 1 minute, and repeat. The benefit of this type of training that you get cardio done in a shorter amount of time and you definitely work up a sweat.
LISS is Low Intensity Steady State cardio. As opposed to HIIT, this type of cardio is slower paced. A LISS workout could be a 20 minute walk or jog. This is great if you have a lot of time to get cardio in, or don’t enjoy HIIT.
Both types of training have their benefits, and they are both great for cardiovascular health. So whichever you prefer, it’s important to keep moving!
